Definition - Luxury Hospital Bed

In general, a luxury hospital bed has all of the functionality of a standard full electric hospital bed but comes standard with an upgraded 10" foam innerspring mattress. By comparison, standard full or semi electric hospital beds come with 7" innerspring or foam mattress. Luxury beds are also distinguished from standard hospital beds by the base unit the upgraded mattress rests upon. Standard hospital bed frames are metallic and have to be assembled in two pieces. As you can see below luxury beds do not. Luxury bed base units are one piece and padded.

Luxury Full Size Full Electric

BMS rents a "full sized" full electric bed whose dimensions are 58"x80" base. Our luxury full electric uses a 10" medium innerspring mattress that fits a 58" x 80" base. The head, foot and platform raise and lower electrically with a wired controller. Luxury full sized beds are designed to accommodate persons weighing up to 300 lb.

Luxury Twin Semi Electric

BMS rents a "twin sized" semi electric whose dimensions are 38" x 80". Our luxury twin electric rental comes with a 10" innerspring mattresses that fit on 38" x 80" frame. The head and foot raises and lowers electrically. The platform on which the mattress rests does not. Luxury twin beds are designed to accommodate persons weighing more up to 300 lb.

Full and Twin Size Luxury Mattresses

For buyers, the luxury semi electric twin and full beds come with a choice of three different firmness of mattress that fit the respective frame:

• Medium
• Firm
• Extra Firm

Listed below are the technical specifications of the mattresses that come standard with twin and full luxury beds:

• 336-coil, 13 gauge bonnell spring unit.
• Heat tempered steel b. Each coil 5½" tall with 5 turns per coil for maximum support.
• Flexnet covers top and bottom of spring unit for strength & durability.(leno netting made of polyester fibers)
• 1.25" high density Comfortlayer of 1.5# foam on top of flexnet and spring unit provides your customers with a firmness choice of soft, medium, or extra firm.* Firmness obtained through ILD (indent load deflection) of foam(soft - 28, medium - 33, extra firm - 39). FlexaBed does not change the density to obtain ILD. ILD's are obtained through cell structure.
• Plush multi-layered, quilted cushion top on all sleeping surfaces. Hi-density super soft foam.
• Entire mattress is innerbonded to insure durability and superb tailoring throughout the life of the mattress.
• Soft damask ticking with matching quilted border to create an elegant look.
• Finely tailored with no splicing of tape edge or borders.
• Three firmness choices on mattresses on all models, as well as alternative mattresses available on our Premier Model 780 and HiLow Model 185 only.
• Special sizes available

• Visco Memory Foam Combo/Innerspring Mattress - 10" 336-coil, 13 gauge Bonnell spring unit with 1.25" visco memory foam on top of spring unit, covered with our 4-layer cushion top on one side.
  
  
• Visco Core Memory Foam Core Mattress - 10" 7½" Visco memory foam core with our 4-layer cushion top. Solid Core - laminated 2" visco, 5½" polyurethane foam
  
  
• Latex Core Mattress - 10" 100% Natural Rubber Latex, Tallalay, 7½" core with our 4-layer quilted cushion top. Solid Core - laminated 2" latex, 5½" polyurethane foam
